Some protections require additional Android permissions or account connections before becoming fully operational.
3. Configure Your 12 Security Protections
01 — Authentication Protection
Purpose: Helps assess whether your device authentication settings meet recommended security practices.
How to set up:
- Open your Android phone's Settings.
- Navigate to Security and privacy or Lock screen.
- Configure a PIN, password, or other supported secure screen lock.
- Enable fingerprint or facial authentication if supported and desired.
- Return to Alphyn Shield and refresh your Authentication status.
Recommended: Use a strong screen-lock PIN or password. Biometric unlocking should supplement a secure device lock.
02 — Operating System Security
Purpose: Helps you review Android security and operating system update status.
How to set up:
- Open Android Settings.
- Navigate to Software update, System update, or your manufacturer's equivalent.
- Check for available Android operating system updates.
- Install applicable updates.
- Check for Google Play system updates under Security and privacy, if available.
- Return to Alphyn Shield and review your OS security status.
Alphyn Shield may not be able to independently verify every manufacturer's patch level. Follow your device manufacturer's update recommendations.
03 — Browser Protection

How to set up:
- Open Alphyn Shield.
- Navigate to Settings → Browser Protection.
- Enable the protection.
- Follow any additional configuration or permission instructions displayed.
- Return to the protection screen and check its status.
Note: Protection coverage may vary by browser, Android version, and enabled filtering method. An enabled toggle does not necessarily mean every website or browser session is covered.

How to set up:
- Open Settings → Scam Text Protection in Alphyn Shield.
- Enable the feature.
- Grant the supported permissions requested by the app.
- Follow any additional setup instructions.
- Review available scam warnings and alerts.

How to set up:

How to set up:

- Complete device registration.
- Open Anti-Theft & Recovery.
- Review location and recovery permissions.
- Grant only the permissions needed for the recovery features you choose.
- Verify your registered device appears in the Alphyn Shield web dashboard.
Supported recovery actions, such as remote lock, require the phone to be properly configured and able to communicate with the service. Delivery may be delayed if the device is offline.
Important: Location access should be enabled only when you want to use location-dependent features.
07 — VPN Protection
Purpose: Helps secure supported network traffic through Alphyn Shield's VPN functionality.
How to set up:
- Open Settings → VPN.
- Enable VPN Protection.
- Review the Android VPN connection request.
- Approve the VPN connection if you want to activate it.
- Check the connection status in Alphyn Shield.
Important: Android typically allows one active VPN service at a time. Another VPN or certain Private DNS configurations may interfere with Alphyn Shield's VPN or network filtering. Follow in-app guidance before changing your device's network settings.
08 — AI Guard

How to set up:
- Open Settings → AI Guard.

AI-assisted warnings are informational and may not detect every threat.
09 — Caller Warnings
Purpose: Helps identify potentially suspicious callers where supported.
How to set up:
- Open Settings → Caller Warnings.
- Enable the feature.
- Follow the phone permission or caller-identification setup instructions, if displayed.
- Review the feature's setup status.
Safety tip: Caller ID can be spoofed. Independently verify unexpected calls requesting money, credentials, or personal information.
10 — Email Protection
Purpose: Helps you review supported email-security signals for suspicious activity.
How to set up:
- Open Settings → Email Protection.
- Select an available supported email provider.
- Follow the provider's secure account authorization process.
- Review the permissions requested.
- Complete the connection and check the Email Protection status.
Email Protection availability depends on supported providers and authorized account connections. You may disconnect a linked account using the available app controls.

How to set up:
- Open Settings → App Security Scan.
- Start or enable the available scan.
- Grant applicable Android permissions when prompted.
- Wait for the assessment to finish.
- Review the reported findings and recommendations.
Some Android versions limit the information applications can access about other installed apps.
12 — Privacy Scan
Purpose: Helps you review available device and application privacy-security information.
How to set up:
- Open Settings → Privacy Scan.
- Start the available privacy assessment.
- Review the results.
- Follow any recommended actions.
- Recheck your device after making changes.
You can also review app permissions directly in Android Settings → Security and privacy → Permission manager, where available.
4. Keep Protection Status Updated
Alphyn Shield can periodically synchronize supported protection information with your account.
To help background synchronization work:
- Keep Alphyn Shield installed and signed in.
- Maintain an internet connection.
- Allow the app to perform background work under your device's battery settings, where supported.
- Avoid force-stopping the app.
- Open Alphyn Shield occasionally to refresh checks requiring foreground operation.
Note: Android schedules background activity based on device conditions and battery management. Updates are not guaranteed to occur at an exact time. Some results may represent the most recent completed assessment rather than a new scan.
5. Access Your Web Dashboard
The Alphyn Shield web dashboard allows you to review supported security information for your registered phone.
- Visit the official Alphyn Shield dashboard using the link provided by AlphynIQ.
- Sign in with your Alphyn Shield account.
- Select your registered Android phone.
- Review available protection statuses and last-reported information.
- Access the supported device recovery features if needed.
Security reminder: Keep your account credentials private and review any sensitive recovery action carefully.
6. Alphyn Shield Plus Subscription
Alphyn Shield Plus provides access to the supported premium protections under your subscription plan.
To subscribe:
- Open Alphyn Shield.
- Navigate to Subscription.
- Review available Monthly and Yearly plans.
- Select your preferred plan.
- Confirm the purchase through Google Play.
- Return to the app and refresh your subscription status.
If you already purchased Plus but your subscription is not recognized, select Restore purchases or Refresh plan while signed in to the correct Alphyn Shield account.
Important: Uninstalling Alphyn Shield does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
To manage or cancel, open Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, then select Alphyn Shield, if listed.
A purchase-free Alphyn Shield trial, where offered, is separate from a Google Play subscription trial. Review the displayed terms before confirming any purchase.
7. Troubleshooting
Protection shows inactive or needs attention
Open the relevant feature, review its permissions and setup instructions, and refresh the assessment. Some features require additional configuration.
The app isn't updating in the background
Check internet connectivity, Android battery restrictions, sign-in status, and the last synchronization time. Some assessments require the app to be open.
VPN will not connect
Check whether another VPN is running. Review Private DNS settings if there is a connection conflict. Restart the connection using Alphyn Shield's controls.
Subscription still shows a free trial
Confirm the Google Play purchase is associated with your account. Refresh the plan or restore purchases. If the issue continues, contact support with the purchase date and relevant non-sensitive details.
Device does not appear on the dashboard
Confirm you are using the same Alphyn Shield account on the phone and website, that registration completed, and that the phone has internet access.
8. Security and Privacy
Alphyn Shield is designed to give users visibility and control over supported security and privacy features.
Review permissions before granting access. You can manage many permissions in Android Settings and review AlphynIQ's Privacy Policy for information about personal data, device information, and connected services.
No security application can guarantee complete protection from every online threat.
